Healthy Habits FAQ
What is Healthy Habits?
Healthy Habits is a 6-week online small group accountability program designed to help you reduce stress, regain energy and improve your overall health by teaching you how to establish and sustain healthy habits in nutrition, fitness, mindset, and lifestyle. The class takes place entirely online, meeting once per week for one hour.
Who is this class for?
This program is for any woman looking to improve their overall health! If you have specific goals around weight, energy, digestion or establishing a healthy routine-- this class is for you. This is not a one size fits all course. The content and discusssion will be tailored to the needs and goals of the group.
What can I expect each class?
Each week we'll have a discussion topic and check in with each person about how their week is going. The discussion topics are designed to further your understanding of health, nutrition and your body. The more you know, the more empowered you are to make the decisions that serve your unique body best.
Is this a diet?
During this class, we will be focusing on eating a whole food, nutrient dense diet by removing processed foods, sugars, and foods that are often sources of inflammation, poor energy regulation and indigestion. So yes, in a sense there is a diet to follow. We are NOT counting calories, measuring and weighing, or portioning into specialized containers. We are focusing on tuning into our bodies and their needs without the distraction of poor quality foods. The goal is to learn what foods work best for you, let your body heal, and focus on mindful eating habits.
Will I lose weight? What if I don't want to lose weight?
This class, diet and format is entirely customizable to you and your goals. If you want to lose weight, you absolutely can. If you want to maintain or even gain weight, you absolutely can. During our first class, we will spend a good portion of time on goal setting, diving into your why behind those goals. Wanting to change your weight is not good or bad, but you must have a solid WHY behind that desire. Finding that why and rooting it in self-love and respect is absolutely key for success.
Do we just talk about food? I struggle with working out. Also macros, what's the deal?
heck no! We cover far more than: "eat this, not that." This course covers an introduction to personal nutrition; teaching you to identify how certain foods make you feel physically and emotionally. We talk creating optimal digestion, the role each of the macronutrients play in the body, and how to balance those for optimal energy and function. And for those who are looking to get active, you'll get 3 workouts per week that you can do anywhere, no equipment needed! Finally, we discuss the importance of mindfulness and the impact of stress and our modern lifestyle has on our overall health, delving into simple, realistic steps you can take to reduce your stress load.
Do I have to participate? Do I have to attend all the classes? This is a "course"... is there homework?
YES to all of this!!! Active participation = Active learning. You are expected to participate each class and that's really what makes the experience for everyone. If you cannot commit to attending all 6 classes, please wait to take this course another time.
I limit this course to six participants so we can ensure each person has the opportunity to share and support others in class. Sharing can be scary, but know this is a supportive and safe space. In between classes you will have "homework" like journal questions, moving outside, or simple lifestyle shifts to further your experience with the class.
Is there a meal plan?
Nope! And before you run away, let me explain why. My goal whether working with you individually or in a group setting, is to teach you sustainable habits. I will not be around after class to tell you exactly how much to eat or what to eat. And really, do you want me to be? Probs not, though I am pretty fun.
Also, I want you to learn how to listen to your body's needs. If you are hungry, I want you to eat and not be inhibited by a meal plan or portioning ration that doesn't meet your needs. Your nutritional needs vary based on activity levels, age, where you are at in your menstrual cycle, your hormone balance, and so much more. Making yourself fit into a meal plan box shortchanges your body and mind.
All that being said, you will get resources for recipes, tips to build a healthy plate and ways to combat overeating and cravings.
What kind of support do I get?
SO MUCH SUPPORT! During your first class, you'll receive a PDF workbook with shopping lists, suggested recipes, budgeting guides, and quick tips for making the most of the program. This workbook will also contain your homework and journal questions to do between classes. You'll also get three at-home workouts each week complete with modifications for any fitness level and video tutorials. One of the best sources of support and accountability is your small group. We will build community, camaraderie, and accountability in this safe space. We'll have a private FB group for you to share your victories, commiserate or ask questions. And for 12 whole weeks, you also have access to me-- that's during the course AND for 6-weeks following the class! I'm a nutritional therapy practitioner, crossfit coach, and I'm passionate about women's health. I am here to support you 100% through this process and help you make sustainable shifts. I'll moderate our FB group, answer questions, and will be available for private questions/concerns via email.
When is class? This program sounds BIG. How much does this cost?
Class kicks off Tuesday, September 19 at 7:30pm and will meet weekly through October 24. We will meet online and you'll get a link to join our class each week.
Six weekly meetings, PDF workbook, at-home workout guide, individualized nutrition support and unlimited access to me through the course is only $597.
Do you offer a payment plan?
Absolutely. $597 is no small chunk of change. I offer a payment plan to break the cost into three payments: $265 up front and then two monthly payments of $166 (still $597 total). Take advantage of the payment plan here
